PRESS RELEASE , AUGUST 20, 2010

The newly RCRF adopted theme of Derech Eretz as an ongoing effort to develop the midos of Bnei Rachel and spread Torah, truth, unity, empathy and love has taken off reaching an enthusiastic audience through inspiring speakers in Beit Bnei Rachel.

Our teacher on Rosh Chodesh Tammuz, HaRav Mayer Horowitz, the Bostoner Rebbe of HaNof showed kavod for parents and Torah are preliminaries of Derech Eretz. Rebbitzen Tziporah Heller spoke on “Derech Eretz, Personal Refinement”. As the world suffers from “me-ism”, "ani achad", Rebbitzen Heller explained that mitzvahs make a difference, that controls, limits and, thus, refines in eating, what one wears, how one speaks and acts. Ha Rav Benjamin Levene, grandson of “A Tzaddik in our Time” remembered a time when we could not come to Kever Rachel as well as when we reclaimed it in 1967. He also remembered when his grandfather Reb Aryeh Levin a”h walked to visit the woman prisoners in Beis Lechem during the time of the British occupation. Geula Cohen wrote that although he couldn’t take us out of prison he brought freedom to us. One of his greatest traits was respect for people in need even with weaker ways of observance. He never belittled; he saw greatness and his praise influenced by moving so many in the right derech. He saw Rochel Imeinu as a role model of caring, kindness and a big heart. She was true Derech Eretz.

The great storyteller and author of numerous books, Rabbi Hanoch Teller told so many stories but his emphasis on saying “thank you” with words, notes and a positive attitude motivated the large audience to say “thank you” over and over again and it really makes a difference.

On Thursday, August 26, via the 10am Egged Bus #163 to Rachel’s Tomb, you will meet RCRF at the entrance and walk outside alongside the building in the same direction as inside. Rabbi Yehonason Alpren, highly respected world known lecturer will speak on "Thoughts on Derech Eretz: Rochel Imeinu and her Meaning for her Jewish Generations Today."

Afterwards, this same Thursday, August 26, we are introducing a new continuing program which is sure to be healthy as well as worthy. Health Coach, Sabrina Schneider with be preparing us to keep fit, on the derech and have the strength to be a motivation for others to follow the derech best for themselves and to influence others. Her series will be Torah motivated and present a collection of recipes for healthy living.

It's Elul. Learning in Beit Bnei Rachel will prepare you for Rosh Hoshana, a new you and a better Bnei Rachel.
